Colleagues from the NIHR ARC GM Healthy Ageing Theme, in collaboration with theme lead Ross Dunne and the Greater Manchester Dementia Research Centre (GMDRC), attended the South Asian Community Festival in Manchester in May.

The festival is a celebration to hear the opinions and perspectives of this community in dementia research and services. It is vital that the South Asian community have equal representation in shaping the research agenda and services that are important to them.

It was reported that hearing from dementia experts that also represent the South Asian community was both appropriate and culturally sensitive to the attendees on the day.
