Manchester neurosurgeons take on Malaga Marathon for Glioblastoma research

The countdown is on! Manchester neurosurgeons Jane Halliday, Julian Evans and Daniel Holsgrove are set take on the Malaga Marathon on Sunday 8 November 🏃‍➡️

They are raising funds to support research led by Dr Thomas Kisby and colleagues from the Nanomedicine Lab. The project builds on an exciting discovery – a previously unrecognised “window of opportunity” after glioblastoma surgery, when the blood-brain barrier temporarily becomes more permeable. This could allow treatments to better reach the area where remaining tumour cells are most likely to be found.

The critical next step is to find out whether this same window exists in patients following brain tumour surgery using advanced MRI imaging. Funds raised by Jane, Julian and Dan will help support this vital study and provide the evidence needed to move towards a future clinical trial.

🌟Every donation will help fund patient recruitment, advanced MRI imaging and the research needed to bring new treatment options closer to people affected by glioblastoma.

☕ Could you donate the price of a coffee? Even a small contribution will help support the next stage of this research.
